Similarities: Bert v Kari

Similarities

J is my favorite. I love the way Brecht describes the changing physical conditions of the character and I love how that is so poignantly appropriate to the Margolis Method.

Also, the number after Brecht's idea/quote is the chapter it comes from. I've read a little bit more than the assigned chapters, so there are some pulled from other chapters.

Hello Friends of the Method!

I took advantage of a gorgeous day and strutted my sexy stuff all over Barryville. I walked along River Road and adventured through some beach-front territory. This long walk was topped off with a killer cardio dance-off I had with myself back at the compound, along with Abs on the ball, push-ups on the ball, squats on the ball, and significant stretch time on the ball.

The ball and me got real close today.

So that's my exercise for the weekend.

My goal for the winter session is simple: “To Bloom where I’m Planted and Absorb, Absorb, Absorb!”

A parallel, in my pedestrian life and the work I do in the studio, is that often I am clearly able to see the ‘Who’ and the ‘What’ and the ‘Why’ of a Story; the most complicated task, for me, is figuring out the most sophisticated and effective ways to manifest the ‘How.’ To make the ‘How’ second nature is a goal. I have realized that outside the studio I work very light and fast, I work very ...

GOOD LOOKING and HARD to KILL

1. Strength

I need to be stronger physically, plain and simple.

2. Endurance/Stamina

This is two-fold for me: I want to develop my physical and mental endurance. After an hour workout, two to four more hours of class time, I can become very physically fatigued. About the last half hour of class is sometimes torturous on my body. Also, mentally I seem to lose focus when ...

OH MY GOD is my immediate reaction to reviewing my Winter Goals and asking myself if I’ve met them. I certainly and profoundly failed at remaining professional in the studio, in particular when Ian was teaching. I never acted more crass, immature, and out of control than during the weeks he was teaching. I suppose I held true to the age old notion that when the cats away the mice will play. I did have fun and I learned more than I expected ...

A couple of small things:

1) I've noticed you lead us through workouts that often tend to be very wrist-heavy, which has proven difficult for me. I don't mind putting pressure on the wrists now and again, but I think a whole workout on the wrists is too much for anybody.

2) I really love the Capoeira-esque stuff you're teaching us. I'd love to get stronger and better at it, but I sometimes think we could take it slower.

3) When we are asked to do personal research on ...
